Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year

Another year has flown by; I can’t believe how quickly it has gone! It’s been another busy and successful year for the HKFA with some notable achievements.

2017 promises to be even more eventful and exciting. Some highlights will be:
l   The opening of the long-awaited HK Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre in July
l   The Asian Cup Qualifiers starting In March
l   The Asia Trophy (hopefully in July)
l   The AFC Champions League throughout the year

To my mind these high profile events and matches are no more important than the development work we do and I look forward to further growth and improvement in our grass roots programmes, youth training, all representative teams, futsal, girls and women’s football, referee development, coach education course etc.

I could not do the work I do without the help and support of my tremendous colleagues here at the HKFA. We have a great team of professional and passionate people and I would like to thank them for all their efforts and hard work. I would also like to thank the Board and the many Committees we have for their direction and commitment. Once again 2016 has been characterized by teamwork and it would be remiss of my not to thank all of our partners and stakeholders including the Government, the Jockey Club, commercial sponsors, partners and suppliers, clubs, players, coaches, referees, the media and fans. Together we are all determined to make Hong Kong football successful. It is my privilege to be part of that team. Happy Christmas to each and everyone of you.

I am excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead in 2017 and give you my word that I will do everything I can to continue the upward trends in Hong Kong Football.

    1. HOW I BECAME A VICTOR AFTER SO MANY FAILED ATTEMPT OF GETTING A LOAN.

I feel so blessed and fulfilled. I've been reluctant in applying for a loan i heard about online because everything seems too good to be true, but i was convinced & shocked when my friend at my place of work got a loan from Progresive Loan INC. & we both confirmed it and i also went ahead to apply, today am a proud owner of my company and making money for my family and a happy mom. Well i'm Annie Joe by name from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. As a single mom with three kids it was hard to get a job that could take care of me and my kids and I had so much bills to pay and to make it worst I had bad credit so i couldn't obtain a loan from any bank. I had an ideal to start a business as an hair stylist but had no capital to start, Tried all type of banks but didn't work out until I was referred by my co-worker to a godsent lender advertising to give a loan at 2% interest rate. I sent them a mail using their official email address (progresiveloan@yahoo.com) and I got a reply immediately and my loan was approved, and I was directed to the Bank site where I withdrawed my loan directly to my account. To cut the story short am proud of my hair stylist company and promise to testify to the world how my life was transformed.. If you are in need of any kind of loan, i advise you contact Progresive Loan INC and be financially lifted Email: progresiveloan@yahoo.com OR Call/Text +1(603) 786-7565

  3. Dear Mark,

    Happy New Year!

The government has announced that they will no longer build the 15,000 performance centre in West Kowloon, because they are building the Kai Tak Stadium and the Performing Arts community should use Kai Tak instead.

I thought Kai Tak was built for the Sports community. CY Leung said the govt is building the Kai Tak facilities for the sports community. Now sports and performing arts will have to share Kai Tak? I consider this a step back from the current state where HK Stadium is exclusive for sports community use.

If the 15,000 performing arts auditorium is confirmed to be cancelled, then I propose the HKFA to fight for the retention of HK Stadium. Now there is no way the govt should be allowed to demolish it or scale it down.

    Regards,

    Allan Ng

  4. Happy New Year Allan,
I have not seen that announcement. As I understand it there will be a main stadium, secondary stadium and indoor arena at the Kai Tak site. I presume that the Government are referring to the secondary stadium and indoor arena as venues that could potentially replace the West Kowloon project. The main stadium at a capacity of 50,000 would be too large.
In any case I have not changed my opinion that the existing stadium should be retained with a smaller capacity of circa 20,000.
    Regards
    Mark

  5. Dear Mark,

As I said before, HK govt is going to demolish Wan Chai Sports Ground for HKCEC. Hong Kong Stadium is going to be renovated into a 10,000 sports ground for school sports days.

Now with the performing arts group losing their performing venue at West Kowloon, they have to use Kai Tak Stadium with sports industry.

Sports will be the big loser at the end of all this. Kai Tak will be filled with concerts, because they can plan years in advance. Rugby will take over for March as usual plus more games at other times. Football will hardly ever get to use Kai Tak.

Sports now have sole use of Hong Kong Stadium. In future you will end up sharing with others. Sports will be better off asking for Hong Kong Stadium expansion (build up more seats in the North & South stand with cover) than to go with the Kai Tak plans.

    Regards,

    Allan Ng
